Navigate away if you don’t want any spoilers to the first book! I cannot wait to see what Adrienne Young will write next, and if you haven’t put this on your list, you’ll definitely want to. It’s a fast moving story, and had a very satisfying end. I didn’t realise how much I was looking forward to the reveals until they were happening, and the dimension they added to the story was intense considering the short 250-ish pages. It was adventurous, and built up an incredible relationship between characters that I truly enjoyed. This sequel was riveting and had everything I was looking for in the story. I couldn’t wait to head back into the world of the Narrows and find out what exactly would happen to Fable and West! I have to say, I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The term, ‘Edda’, was later ascribed to Snorri’s work by a different author in a manuscript from the early 14th century CE, the Codex Upsaliensis, which contained a copy of Snorri’s Edda within it. Snorri Sturluson’s work was the first of the two manuscripts to be called Edda, however, scholars are uncertain how this exactly came about. I read it one sitting, completely transported to a small supermarket in Maine, where a group of people faced a terrifying, inexplicable situation. I had picked up a copy of Kirby McCauley's anthology, Dark Forces, and The Mist was (if I recall correctly), the first story in the book. I first read The Mist on a Sunday morning back in the early 1980s. And what you're about to hear, you'll never forget. ![]() In this horrifying mist, hearing is seeing - and believing.
